API: Alpha Processor Expands Reseller Network

Alpha Processor Expands Reseller Network to Meet Growing UP1000 Demand

February 2, 2000

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Alpha Processor, Inc. (API) today announced the continued expansion of its worldwide network of resellers and system vendors, adding new partners across North America and Europe to keep pace with order volume for the UP1000 Alpha motherboard.

"Since we started shipping UP1000 boards, interest from the Linux/Alpha community and from system integrators building compute clusters has been well ahead of what we originally planned for," said a company spokesperson. "Growing the reseller network is how we keep lead times reasonable for everyone."

The UP1000 pairs a single Alpha 21264 processor — running at 600MHz with a 2MB L2 cache, or 700MHz with a 4MB L2 cache — with the AMD-751 System Controller, giving system builders a compact, standard ATX-form-factor board for Linux/Alpha workstations and servers.

A current list of Alpha Processor resellers and system vendors is maintained on the System Vendors page.
